A couple of years ago, I saw a documentary, it probably would have been on either the History or Discovery channel(s), that investigated the history and methodology of how the Egyptian pyramids were built.
Part of it was on location in Egypt and even demonstrated how the stones would have been cut and transported; and much of the details suggested the process was (relatively) easier than some would think (particularly the alien conspiracy theorists)

Could America be on the brink of another civil war? With tensions high concerning illegal immigrants are we witnessing the countdown for civil unrest? You can bet your shirt we are.

Our economy is at such a low intensity that it takes very little to shatter the weak budgets which the various American states have designated for the upcoming fiscal year. Cuts are being forced in all quarters of government spending and the individual states can not perceive any supplementary methods in which to plug the leak around their asset depletion. A state can only raise the tax level so much before it gets totally out of hand and breaks the camels back. With the elections right around the corner, politicians aren’t sure as to which way they should turn.

One major zone of revenue still centers upon the illegal immigrant. Unusually large sums of tax dollars are expended annually towards the illegal immigrant for their food stamps, Medicaid and associated SSI payments which the states can not in all honestly justify to their tax paying citizens. Legislative bodies hate to reduce the money set aside for educational purposes but that is what must happen. In order to prevent this from occurring the various state immigration policies must be the pivot point of the states badly needed tax cuts.

We first heard from the state of Arizona who out of self preservation passed state laws concerning illegal persons. From there we found out that Rhode Island had previously enacted legislation to control the influx of immigrants to their state. Recently we saw Virginia proclaim similar guidelines and now Florida has acknowledged it is going to pass laws to forbid their state from becoming a haven for immigrants as they retreat from other states.

Washington would do well to pay heed to what is happening in the American states. The people are fed up with the lack of support from D.C. and are starting to take the matters into their own hands. From historical documentation we know that when the situation gets to this point civil war is only a few blocks away.

As Arizona appeals the court ruling in their state, the newest laws are being proposed by the Florida Attorney General McCollum. These rulings are just as strict on the illegal population as Arizona’s. I personally believe that this particular issue will be the focus point in many of our upcoming elections this November. The American people are tired of these “Wishy-Washy” laws that the federal government makes and expects the states to follow. They want help from our government and they want it now. Many of these states need this federal aid to protect the American boarders from the south and they rightfully should expect this assistance.

Basically Florida is reiterating what other states are now saying and that is they do not want their state to be a sanctuary for illegal aliens. More and more states are taking the stand that their police forces have a right to check the suspected immigrant’s legal status regardless of the reason for the stop.

This is a critical change for the state of Florida who in the past has become the destination of choice for illegal from the Caribbean islands or Latin American countries. As the Florida AG has stated their proposed law goes “one step further” than one finds in Arizona’s legislation.

Yes I can clearly see now the sides being selected for a possible Civil War. Who can remedy this prediction you may ask? Only the federal government by doing what is expected according to the American Constitution. Obama must stop his partying and act like the Commander in Chief of this great nation. In short he must start doing his job to the satisfaction of the American people. Think about this very carefully Mr. Obama, the people put you in office and the people can take you out.

Is District 9 a horror movie?

I’m going to be seeing District 9 with my girlfriend, and she isn’t a fan of horror movies at all, and neither am I. But looking at the trailer it seems like it’s going to be your average alien thriller with some connotations of the apartheid in South Africa. My kind of movie. But if there’s disturbing images, or scenes where things jump out of the dark and kill people, I don’t want to see it. Also, was the movie good, and would you recommend it?

I just saw it yesterday and thought it was one of the best sci-fi movies ever. Yes it had gore and blood and guts and stuff but NOT a horror movie. Very intelligent movie with lots of sub-plots and yes political connotations. For the disturbing images question though you should refer to this, (watch out though, it has spoilers):
