Must one provide a work certificate in Illinois for employment?
I thought it was already legal to work in Illinois at age 16 without providing documentation, not that I’m an alien.
Check with the Illinois Department of Employment Security Website to find the answer. Or, call them. Their job is to help people find work and stay employed. The know the “rules” about employment for a 16 year old, because part of their job is enforcing those rules. They can be very helpful!
