Alienware Aurora Area-51 M9700 Laptop Audio W/Vista Problem?
Thought I would give this a shot here since Alienware seems to be a little dumb about this issue. I have Vista Ultimate, Sound drivers are for soundmax and used the ones from Alienware’s driver/software download.
After installing the soundmax drivers for vista that you get from Alienware’s website and then restarting after the install, the system boots up as normal and then before going to the desktop it shows a box With a white X in a round red circle saying No ADI codec drivers is installed and then after clicking the ok it goes to the desktop. I have sound and all but when I click on the soundmax controll panel it only shows the master sound controll and the mic. In xp it showed all the speackers like front, back, subwoofer, pc beep, ect. and also shown an equalizer and all the bells and whistles. Why is it not showing up in vista? If there are better drivers/software out there that actually work, where can I get them. I have tried everything! Please Help!
