Fourth kind movie true story?
I was looking into this and found out that the archive footage of Dr. Abigail Tyler was of a British Actress. I did some digging and eventually found that the story was similar to something that happened in Nome Alaska in 1988:

What at first I found interesting was a link I’m sure not many people have made. This story in its description bears striking resemblance of the mothman stories in Virgina remember? The odd thing is like the movie mentioning owls. Mothman is also reported to be akin to an Owl man with the glowing red eyes and all…
Has anyone else found anything similar about this story? Or any actual resemblance as to the true story behind the film?
Given the similarity I found on this story and mothman there has to be some basis of fact on the story of alien abduction.
I saw the movie too and it freaked me out so bad (alien fear) that I looked into it. It did turn out that there were weird sightings of lights and mass hysteria breaking out but as for the story in the movie it was fictitious, as you said the “archive” footage was acting and special effects. There was only the mothman story that you mentioned was another event of mass hysteria that everyone related to the lights and the owlman may have been born from that or it all may be a true government cover up xD
