The Ideas about Stonehenge

Stonehenge is a monument situated in the United Kingdom, which can be regarded as one of the greatest mysterious constructions. It has attracted the attention of antiquity lovers who yearn to understand the mysteries of prehistoric terms. And the  most intriguing point about this monument is that nobody knows why it was constructed.

Stonehenge construction was started about 5000 years ago by people of the Neolithic era. The blue stones used in it were most likely carried from the Prescelly Mountains situated inside a place named Wales about 250 miles far away. How they were transported is unclear. It is thought that the ancient builders brought them in by rafts on rivers.

The present appearance of this monument may possibly be formed about 3500 years ago, by placing the stones in a circle and horseshoe. There is also an outer circle located about 20 miles away.

The total quantity of blue stones utilized on the original Stonehenge is not completely  known, it is thought it could be 60.  A few of these initial stones were destroyed and some were lost or removed. Whatever the situation, the primary issue about this monument is why it is produced.  Researchers are still working on this issue to find  the actual answer.

The arrangement of the stones suggests that these were pillars of worship to goddesses. In ancient times, folks were extremely strange in their religious beliefs. That is why such theory has been evolved. Yet you can find evidence concerning the truth that druids  liked to build their temples on forests. So, Stonehenge was not established for worship.

A different idea is the possibility of the purpose of burials. Some scientists say that persons who had suffered an injury were buried there with the objective of cure and revival as some antique evidence shows that this location was regarded as as a source of power.

Yet another idea aims to prove that monoliths are placed on the graves of important people to determine their areas. Contemporary scientists do not subscribe to this explanation.

Alternatively, there is a theory about the likelihood of astrological aims. This idea thinks ancient men and women arranged all these pillars to provide a suitable location to observe the movements of stars. If we think about this mysterious monument as a first step in the advancement of science, it’s an admirable concept. The stones could be regarded as symbolic of the planets of the solar system. However, the arrangement shows 9 planets rather than 12.

An even more mysterious notion suggests that the ancient druids tried to develop a portal to a parallel globe.

Whatever its purpose, Stonehenge was a superb achievement for ancient mankind to have achieved.

Aliens In Roswell 1947

Aliens In Roswell 1947
Do any of you guys answering this question believe that in 1947, aliens were found in the Roswell incident?

I personally believe that alien bodies were found, but were kept secret, even from the president.

Oh No! The government is watching me. They’re onto me!

Dude I completely agree with you! The Governments are keeping it a secret, probably for good reasons though, like to prevent panic and worry. I still think we deserve to know the truth. After all, this is everyone’s planet! The Roswell incident was a subject of intense controversy!
” The United States military maintains that what was actually recovered was debris from an experimental high-altitude surveillance balloon belonging to a classified program named “Mogul”;[1] however, many UFO proponents maintain that in fact a crashed alien craft and bodies were recovered, and that the military then engaged in a cover up.”

I mean there were Witnesses and even evidence, but ……..

“ A UFO crashed northwest of Roswell, New Mexico, in the summer of 1947. The military acted quickly and efficiently to recover the debris after its existence was reported by a ranch hand. The debris, unlike anything these highly trained men had ever seen, was flown without delay to at least three government installations. A cover story was concocted to explain away the debris and the flurry of activity. It was explained that a weather balloon, one with a new radiosonde target device, had been found and temporarily confused the personnel of the 509th Bomb Group. Government officials took reporters’ notes from their desks and warned a radio reporter not to play a recorded interview with the ranch hand. The men who took part in the recovery were told never to talk about the incident. And with a whimper, not a bang, the Roswell event faded quickly from public view and press scrutiny.”

There are Aliens, I am just hoping an incident will occure that even the US GVT, won’t be able to make a cover story!

Aliens In 1950

Aliens In 1950
I need help figuring the name of a 1950′s space sci-fi movie?

All that I can remember is a scene near the end of the movie, where the human astronauts (maybe in their suits) were trying to flee from an alien planet. The scene I remember is there were at least two astronauts, one male one female, (possibly a third one who was male) attempting to escape from an alien building that was shaped like a smooth cone and the ramp was a spiral along the outside of it. No steps, just a smooth slanted spiral.

The weird part was that there was a dark, viscous material welling up through the alien structures and seeping through small circular portals that would kill the astronauts if the come into contact with it. The ooze reminded me of the original “The Blob” movie when it was consuming the diner.

I last saw this movie during the 70′s and I know that scene is as I described. If you could help me on this, I’d appreciate it. Thanks.

The Angry Red Planet (1960)
IMDb synopsis:
Our first manned flight to Mars returns after being thought lost in space. Only two survivors (Gerald Mohr and Nora (Naura) Hayden) of the original four are on board. Mohr has a green growth on his arm, and nothing that the doctors do will kill it. Hayden, under hypnosis, tells of their adventures on Mars. Thought to be a dead planet, it’s inhabited with man-eating plants, giant bat-rat-spider-crab monsters, a strange city on a lake, and a one-eyed monster that dissolves anything that it swallows or touches.

I’ll check YouTube for clips. Here’s the movie trailer:

Here’s the blobbish creature that comes after the space travelers~toward the end of the clip:

I’m not sure if this is the one, but it’s what came to mind first. I’m sure there are a dozen other Fifties-Sixties sci fi films that it could be. I’ll check around some more.

This imaginative summer comedy from director Barry Sonnenfeld (Get Shorty) is a lot of fun, largely on the strength of Will Smith's engaging performance as the rookie partner of a secret agent (Tommy Lee Jones) assigned to keep tabs on Earth-dwelling extraterrestrials. There's lots of comedy to spare in this bright film, some of the funniest stuff found in the margins of the major action. (A scene...

Aliens In Art History

Do you believe humans are decedents of aliens?

In my 3D art history, we were studying Mayan and ancient egyptian cultures, and as we know the Mayans and Egyptians were completely located on opposite sides of the planet. However their writings and hieroglyphics highly resemble each other. In fact there is one egyptian hieroglyph that shows a man operating a machine of some type, which my teacher indicates that it may be a space ship. Which indicates space traveling that would concur mayan and egyptian likeness. How could they have thought up of such technology at that time?

I have also seen this drawing before. And it is not an egyptian hieroglyphic but a hieroglypic from the Mayan culture. It may or may not be a depiction of an spaceship-there really is no way of telling since the ancient Mayan and Egyptian civiliazations no longer exist.

Many historians think that the picture is not a depiction of a spaceship, but of a religious tribute to a Mayan lord. The pedal the man seems to be pushing could be a seashell, which the Mayan’s consider is a symbol of death. What appears to be rocket exhaust is actually a symbol for corn.

Anyway, to answer your question I am not sure whether we are descendants of aliens or not. There is no proof that we are or that we aren’t. Many agree that we are the descendants of primitive apes that are native to earth, but who really knows. It is possible that aliens seeded the earth with life as a project to study how life evolves. The primitive apes that we evolved from could have been from another planet. As for the idea that egyptians/mayans may of had amazing technology, it is possible.

The writer is the reflection of his society, whatever he traces is the tongue of contemporary society. His work, The Prologue to the Canterbury Tales is a great achievement holding various facets and proving him a poet and a narrator. The historians, without reading his work, can not write history. His art of characterization is very simple and eminent.

He is very fantastic in portraying his characters. He watches his characters minutely. He looks over the behaviours, manners dresses and all habits minutely. His work, prologue to the Canterbury tales is a good work, there in thirty characters are led for pilgrimage representing English society morally and socially. His work is fit for all ages.

All his thirty characters represent different professions as The Knight and the Squire represent warrior class ready to flow blood for country sake. Chaucer depicts that where there is dispute, there is knight to face and reconcile. Further it is added that there was a great keen for being the knight as holding and executing power. He performs a great work. The squire is representing good-humored and joyful disposition with the signs of success. The Man of Law, the Doctor, and the Oxford Clerk belong to the learned line of work.

The Merchant and the Shipman represent the higher commercial community while the Wife of Bath, an expert Cloth maker represents the traders and firm. Agriculture is represented by the Ploughman, the Miller and the Franklin. his way of describing the Monk is very humorous but polite. As he says that the monk has craze for hunting and taming dogs. His description of all characters shows his mild humour.

These characters represent various types of contemporary society. They possess different qualities and manners and move before us like real human being. His characters are perfectly lifelike. Some of them are so modern that they seem to be living today. The old Knight is an example of the chivalrous character which is found in every generation. The Merchant is very proud over grow of wealth, while the Man of Law like lawyers of all times is enhancing fees and buying land. We recognize in him the typical lawyer of our own day: it is the peculiarity by virtue of it he is called the poet of modern age.

There are characters like the Prioress, the Monk, the Franklin, the Reeve, the Summoner, the Pardoner, and the Wife of Bath whom we do not identify at first. But none of them is really extinct. They have changed their name and profession but their chief part is an element of humanity. That is why when we accompany the Pilgrims on their way we feel quite at home and have no feeling of being among aliens.

Chaucer’s art of characterization is superb. He looks at his characters positively and marks out each of the men and women minutely and distinguishably. His way of narration is very excellent pursuing the readers to be their companions. Chaucer conveys a strong sense of distinctiveness and depth of portraiture. He simply evinces their realities without any hard satire or humour.

Chaucer’s method of portraying characters is a scientific manner by differentiating them by means of their conspicuous characteristics. It was for the first time in European literature that a writer proved himself clearly cognizant of the relation between individuals and ideas. Moreover, Chaucer’s characters grow and develop in the course of the tale, like living human beings. They give their opinions on the stories that have been told and these comments reveal their central thoughts, their feelings and the objects of their interests.

Thus Chaucer is the master in the art of characterization.

Aliens In Voyager

Aliens In Voyager

How far away is the next nearest life form to people or humans, with a great amount of intelligence? That is to say other than what is here on Earth. This topic is often kicked around in scientific circles much to the chagrin of religious followers. Recently this topic re-surfaced in a most unusually place; an online think tank and forum, where a think tanker stated in the form of a question:

” How far is the gap between Solar Systems? Is it like random islands distant from each other in the middle of the Pacific Ocean?”

The think tanker was eluding to the fact that if there is some life in each solar system of various types and they are so far apart, then most of the life has evolved on its own. Thus similar life to that on Earth might be extremely far apart. It was further discussed that the Voyager Exploration unit which has now left the solar system has changed speed now that it has left into the void of interstellar space.

Indeed this finding of either gravity distribution, density of space, changes our whole set of values in terms of distance and “light years” doesn’t it? Things maybe much different than they appear from our limited viewpoint and perspective here.

Such hypotheticals of types of other life on other worlds is interesting and perhaps my thoughts are that there is every type of life you can imagine out there and then some. After all from what we can see, there is a whole lot out there meaning a whole lot of possibilities. Perhaps you have thoughts on such things, if not do consider all this sometime in 2006.
