Old PC game (Dinosaurs)?

I used to have this PC game in the nineties that made you travel around the world and take pictures of dinosaurs. The beginning started off with you in a grey high tech room and an alien would tell you to take pictures of dinosaurs. When playing, at points, some dinosaurs would pop out from the woodwork and attack the screen. You could go on land and in the ocean. It was a really good game and I fail to remember the title of it considering I was pretty young.

I just saw via import DVD, Season 1 of “Primeval” which is about to debut soon on BBC America. The basic premise is that somehow a rift in the space time vortex- an Anomaly, has opened up in parts of England, leading prehistoric creatures including dinosaurs to go through time to present day England and cause havoc and destruction. The English government despite some of the gory deaths these “lovable creatures” cause by “chop chop” somehow try and manage to cover things up. The Government Official in charge of the Cover-Up is one of the slimiest looking actors you’ve ever seen and looks like he’s a registered sex offender! The good guys who try to capture these creatures, some of whom are quite disgusting looking nasty humongous prehistoric reptiles, are led by Professor Nick Cutter excellently played by Douglas Henshall. Professor Cutter has been in mourning for the past 8 years for his beloved late wife who disappeared into the area where the anomaly exists which is how he gets involved. From there, Cutter’s wife’s saga takes one of the most bizarre turns I’ve ever seen on any TV Show or movie. I’m not specifying anything more because I don’t want to spoil things. The first episode deals with the formation of “Cutter’s team” and the discovery and entering of the Anomaly. Pay careful attention to the first episode as it figures prominently in Season 1′s finale. The finale is one of the best finale’s I’ve ever seen on TV as there are two excellent mind blowers. One of them involves the most original way I’ve ever seen a TV show get rid of a character! Season one is sadly only 6 episodes.

What I love about Primeval is just when you think the show lacks an edge, it comes out with a shocking one in one of the later episodes that sets the stage for it to really evolve. I hope people in the US give this show a chance. It starts off kind of too nice and comfortable but then starts to really build as the episodes progress. I think that the people who’ve stuck to it will be really hooked by the end of episode 6. Season 2 has already been shown in England and Season 3 has started filming.

I’d call this show science fiction fantasy light that evolves into science fiction heavy by the end of Season 1. The show is excellently cast featuring a bunch of relatively unknown (in the US). uncontrived actors with tight directing and good scriptwriting especially in the later episodes. I thought the special effects were really good but I’m not a special effects geek and what impresses me might not impress a Star Wars fanboy. All I can say is to me, the prehistoric creatures and dinosaurs did not look like puppets as compared to some of the aliens in “Farscape”. I”d give this show a solid B to B+ with several nice unexpected story turns.

There is not a child or adult alive today that does not know at least one Marvel character. But to get a full list of Marvel characters would first require us to segregate the many different types of creations that Marvel has introduced. The list of Marvel characters is voluminous but let’s take a closer look at how they have and how they have been distinguished from one another.

List of Marvel Characters – Aliens

These aliens are found in the comic series of Marvel and they enjoyed air time in several publications including cross over from one story line to another. We all know about the Silver Surfer but in the comics, there is a character there called the Badoon, a reptile alien who lived on a planet called Moord while their female counterparts lived in Swampworld. The story of Badoon is about gender warfare, resulting in men eventually winning over the women. The special power of these aliens is that they can travel faster than the speed of light.

X-Men also has an interesting list of Marvel characters which includes Phalanx, from the Greek word meaning military formation made up of spears and spiky objects. Essentially, Phalanx is made up of contiguous parts that form a single unit aimed at assassinating mutants.

List of Marvel Characters – Mutants

This list is the longest of all Marvel characters but we’ll only be taking a look at a couple. Bloodlust is Polish that has vampire and werewolf like features, that is, sharp fangs and claws. Bloodlust is known for her exceptional speed and extreme agility.

Changeling is another Marvel mutant also known as Kevin Sydney who is a shape shifter. Although the character of Changeling was short lived, this was later on replaced in the early 1990s by Morph.

Darwin is a Marvel character that we don’t often hear about but is an interesting one with powers of evolution in the interest of self-protection. According to the comics, Darwin became an energy fuse and merged with Vulcan, the latter later on leaving planet Earth for space.

List of Marvel Characters – Golden Age

The Masked Raider is based on an American comic first published before the 2nd World War. The Masked Raider, together with his talented horse fought the lawless and dedicated his life to making sure there is justice in the world.

The Human Torch adds to this list of Marvel characters and this one was a robot created by a scientist also from the fictional world of Marvel. The Human Torch had little presence in the comic world but is very well known for fighting with Captain America and Namor.
