I was watching the film “The Fourth Kind” (based on actual footage of alien abduction). In the movie they said that the aliens were speaking the oldest language on Earth called ‘Sumerian’ (this language was spoken by Mesopotamian inhabitants, who lived in Egypt, Modern Iraq and several other Middle Eastern countries). Coincidentally, I was watching a documentary called Ancient Aliens on the History Channel, and they stated that aliens could have visited Earth (evidently Egypt). Is it coincidence or could there really have been aliens to Earth.
It is just weird to see that the aliens in the movie and the aliens in Ancient Egypt are similar (very very similar).
What’s your opinion?
The movie the fourth kind is bogus… it even states it on wikipedia. there is no supporting evidence that dr. abigail is real. However ancient aliens is a good show and has opinions and facts where as the movie was a crock! I believe humans where first to have been created in Zion, aka Africa.

Resident Alien (canadian born) wants to marry a Peruvian woman?
I am a Resident Alien (born in Canada) but raised here in So Cal (since I was 6 months old), basicially, my whole life. I have been involved with a woman for almost 3 years now who lives in Peru. I was recently denied U. S. Citizenship (over non-submittal of some !$#@$!@ paperwork, I’ll reapply for citizehip in February 2009). I put all that in, in case someone says, “why aren’t you a citizen, blah blah blah?” That’s just for (some) clarification.
My question is: what are ALL the steps I would need to take to marry her and eventually bring her here (as a resident alien–me, not her)?
I am thinking of doing the following, is it a better idea?:
Would it be easier to marry her in February 2009 (in Peru), return to the U.S. and then re-apply for citizenship? Will it make a big difference trying to bring her here if I am given U.S. citizenship? I know it’s a lengthy question(s) but any and all REAL help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
If you are a citizen applying for her as your wife or as a fiancee it will take about a year for her to get the visa.
If you are a green card holder, applying for her as your wife, (green card holders can’t apply for fiancee visas) it will take 5 and 1/2 years for her to get a visa.

I just saw via import DVD, Season 1 of “Primeval” which is about to debut soon on BBC America. The basic premise is that somehow a rift in the space time vortex- an Anomaly, has opened up in parts of England, leading prehistoric creatures including dinosaurs to go through time to present day England and cause havoc and destruction. The English government despite some of the gory deaths these “lovable creatures” cause by “chop chop” somehow try and manage to cover things up. The Government Official in charge of the Cover-Up is one of the slimiest looking actors you’ve ever seen and looks like he’s a registered sex offender! The good guys who try to capture these creatures, some of whom are quite disgusting looking nasty humongous prehistoric reptiles, are led by Professor Nick Cutter excellently played by Douglas Henshall. Professor Cutter has been in mourning for the past 8 years for his beloved late wife who disappeared into the area where the anomaly exists which is how he gets involved. From there, Cutter’s wife’s saga takes one of the most bizarre turns I’ve ever seen on any TV Show or movie. I’m not specifying anything more because I don’t want to spoil things. The first episode deals with the formation of “Cutter’s team” and the discovery and entering of the Anomaly. Pay careful attention to the first episode as it figures prominently in Season 1′s finale. The finale is one of the best finale’s I’ve ever seen on TV as there are two excellent mind blowers. One of them involves the most original way I’ve ever seen a TV show get rid of a character! Season one is sadly only 6 episodes.
What I love about Primeval is just when you think the show lacks an edge, it comes out with a shocking one in one of the later episodes that sets the stage for it to really evolve. I hope people in the US give this show a chance. It starts off kind of too nice and comfortable but then starts to really build as the episodes progress. I think that the people who’ve stuck to it will be really hooked by the end of episode 6. Season 2 has already been shown in England and Season 3 has started filming.
I’d call this show science fiction fantasy light that evolves into science fiction heavy by the end of Season 1. The show is excellently cast featuring a bunch of relatively unknown (in the US). uncontrived actors with tight directing and good scriptwriting especially in the later episodes. I thought the special effects were really good but I’m not a special effects geek and what impresses me might not impress a Star Wars fanboy. All I can say is to me, the prehistoric creatures and dinosaurs did not look like puppets as compared to some of the aliens in “Farscape”. I”d give this show a solid B to B+ with several nice unexpected story turns.

Riverworld, is a Syfy original movie based on the books by Philip Jose Farmer. The basic premise involves aliens called the caretakers, collecting humans as they die. They then transport them to a new world, the Riverworld. In this world, all of your basic needs are taken care of by orbs called “Grail Stones” littered around the world. To access food from the grail stones, one must have a grail band which acts as a form of identification.
The main character is Matt Ellman, played by Tahmoh Penikett (Battlestar Gallactica, Dollhouse). when the movie opens, he is a war correspondent living in Singapore. He is madly in love with his girlfriend Jesse and proposes to her. Unfortunately, their lives are cut short when a suicide bomber blows them up along with the night club they were at.
Matt awakens in the Riverworld among some of his friends who were in the night club. However, Jesse is nowhere to be found. Unlike the others, he has no grail band. It is soon revealed that there is a civil war among the caretakers. Each faction selects a number of champions as the caretakers themselves cannot act directly. These champions are identified by their lack of grail band.
Throughout Matt’s journey to be reunited with Jesse, he meets a number of historical figures, some are his friends and some are his enemies. On the opposing side we meet Richard Burton, the famous explorer, and Francisco Pizarro, the man who conquered the Incas for the Spanish Empire. Helping Matt are notables such as Sam Clemens, otherwise known as Mark Twain, and Tomoe Gozen, famed swordwoman of 12th century Japan.
The movie was about on par with other Syfy original movies as far as production quality and acting. Most of these movies are basically grade B science fiction and fantasy movies, and this one is no exception. These movies are similar to cult classic science fiction movies of the 60s, but with better special effects, and slightly better acting.
This is a long movie, with a run time of about 3 hours, so a good amount of time should be reserved if one wants to watch it. At times the plot seems to go a little slow, but some decent action is usually around the corner. Matt’s driving quest to find Jesse gets a little old at times.
Overall, this is a decent movie to Netflix or get from the Redbox. The story was a bit convoluted for my tastes. The action and special effects were of about medium quality for today’s standards. It’s Geektime gives Riverworld a 6 on the d10 of science fiction movies.
