This arrival was likely timed to coincide with Ramadan. If only Muslims were on board, were those who arranged this discriminating against those who weren’t Muslim? Who arranged for all of this really, and will those people Lord it over others once they are in Canada, making them pay forever? Could those arriving have arrived in finer fashion and still be considered refugees? Or do they have to all appear poor, even though they paid $45000 to get here. If they all want compassion and understanding will the Muslims onboard be open minded and forgiving if a daughter took up with a female nonMuslim Inuit when here – or would they punish her? Are they going to Lord it over their families while expecting compassion from us? Religion is too often an excuse for too much when there is no proof that any religion is true – although humanity and spirituality seem to be. I think we are fools to let these manipulators in. They should all be returned to their own countries with assurances from the government that all will be well once they are back – and keep track of them with webcams, maybe! If we are so compassionate, perhaps we should let all criminals out of jail, all bikers do what they want, forgive all abusers and users – just as we are being compassionate to what are likely manipulative, wily, wheeler dealers, violent soldiers, or worse. Who are the people on the boat, really? Are we aware enough or do we have the connections to actually find out or see life as it really is – or does it matter who the people were and should they be given a new chance. Canadian citizens are ENRAGED by feeling they are being told what to do by the people arriving, that they are being stripped of any power and are witnessing the weakness of politicians who are finally called on to stand up for Canadians and who just limp about doing nothing hiding under the guise of our laws and compassion when, really, we are just being played for fools and they are just waiting for their pensions not really having the will, it seems, to do anything. Also, I am sick of so many immigrants saying only the Aboriginals have a right to be here and that they don`t have to account to anyone as no one has a right to tell them what to do. It is so common, that kind of thinking, which makes it all the more common for immigrants to just stay in their communities, helped by multiculturalism, and feel they don`t have to meld in. This is Canada, and those coming aren`t coming to live off the land and go to sweat lodges. They are coming here because they can and can be what they want – but from what I can see too many are Lording it over us telling us what they will do and won`t do and that we don`t have any right to tell them otherwise. This is a land of immigrants, but it wan`t intended to be a land of separate countries within Canada with those coming having more ties to their old countries than here and not even trying to become Canadian – make this their true home. How many of those coming give up their other citizenships. Why is it that those getting here paying huge sums are allowed to stay after playing us and using our compassion against us, while those in Darfur and the Congo and elsewhere are dying, suffering, and àre left to rot, but those with means get here and get to stay. There is something wrong with this picture and we seem to weak and pathetic, although nice, or were nice until this kind of thing started happening, where those arriving are plotting and planning and taking advantage of our laws. This is going to only get worse – and, yes, it is a problem regarding security and CSIS was right that some politicians are too influenced by other countries. Do we have any politicians who are educated enough to know what is happening throughout the world, what our laws are, what we can and can`t do, what the future might hold. Many people I know ask why I read the paper all the time or vote as they consider it a waste of time. I think they are pretty typical, so many are uninformed, oblivious, and those elected often are as well. That ship should be turned around and sent back home with those getting off made media stars and watched by all to make sure they are working and staying safe.
