Your Questions About Nome Alaska Weather

Thomas asks…

What’s it like living in Nome or Fairbanks Alaska?

The weather, job opportunities, housing, the people, the views, the atmosphere, places to go, things to do, the lifesytle in general? What’s it all like?

Joy answers:

There is a reason why that area is so underpopulated. The cost of living it very high, being so cut off from the rest of the united states. I hear the Alaskan summers are very nice, cool with 18 or even 24 full hours of daylight in the Northern parts. However there definitely is a catch. The winters are terrible with weak to no sunlight. Definitely not worth it.
Transportation sucks, most Americans own cars. Here people own planes instead to travel since there are no roads, or there all dead frozen.
I also have a Wikipedia link about Nome, look at the climate chart and population…
